On November 24th, the warmth of community and the aroma of delicious chili filled the air at County Line Orchard for the 2024 Chili Cook-Off. This year’s event was a tremendous success, drawing nearly 700 guests for an unforgettable day of food, fun, and celebration. The cook-off is our annual way of showing gratitude to the families, friends, and clients—both past and present—who make Brokerworks Group the thriving community it is. It’s more than just an event; it’s our heartfelt way of building connections and celebrating the people we care about most.
A Family-Friendly Celebration
This year’s cook-off truly had something for everyone. Kids enjoyed a variety of activities, keeping the little ones entertained and adding to the festive atmosphere. Meanwhile, adults mingled, sampled chili, and sipped on beverages from our amazing partners.
30+ Chili Recipes and a Winning Duo
With over 30 chili submissions, this year’s competition brought out the best in creativity and flavor. After much deliberation, Bill and Arlene Olenik-Lowe were crowned Chili Cook-Off Champions for the second year in a row. Their unbeatable recipe wowed everyone and secured their place as cook-off royalty.

- Joel Alderson of Lakeside Home Inspections: Your photo booth was a hit, giving guests keepsake snapshots of the day.
- Aftermath Cidery and Fuzzyline Brewing Co: Your beverages were crowd favorites, and Fuzzyline’s early release of the Brokerworks flagship beer, “Ratecut,” was a standout highlight.
- Valparaiso Honor Society: Your help in managing the event and assisting guests was invaluable.
- ABRA, our nonprofit partner: For the second year in a row, you’ve helped us give back to the community we cherish.
